East Main Place strives to be the community's premiere homeless transitional living facility resource; promoting self-sufficiency as a lifelong activity.

East Main Place is Norman's largest transitional living facility for the homeless in our community, housing more that 50 residents at any given time. Comprehensive case management services, accountability and structure are the keys to successful program participants.

East Main Place is unique in that once people enroll in our program, case managers assist participants with job search. 90% of our residents work full time within 90-120 days of residency. Additionally, East Main Place is the only housing program in our community that has 100% room sponsorship and EMP is the only program that allows participants to keep all of their apartment furnishings once they successfully graduate the program.

EMP provides comprehensive and intensive case management services to 100% of program participants.

The East Main Place resident program will last for a period of up to12 months. EMP strongly encourages residents to maintain residency for the entire 12 month period. Due to some extenuating circumstances, residents may maintain residency for the HUD allowable timetable of 24 months depending on minor setbacks or achievements gained as outlined in the resident(s) individual development plan.

After a new resident gains employment, they are required to pay rent monthly as required in the EMP contract with the Norman Housing Authority for Project Based Section 8 voucher assistance. Resident rental costs are calculated using the Norman Housing Authority formulary for qualified Section 8 recipient assistance. The cap for resident rental costs will not exceed the sum of $150.00 monthly.

The goal of EMP and for our program is simple: we exist solely to house and provide quality case management services to homeless individuals and families. We also adhere to the belief we are here to possibly prevent homelessness from ever occurring .We must provide for our residents a safe, functional environment to house them as they achieve their goals and better themselves and their life circumstances, a safe haven for their children to thrive in without a thought given of when their next meal may be or the fear of where they will sleep tonight. There is no boundary for the immense opportunities available while residing at EMP. We offer our residents the time and resources necessary to get back on their feet by providing them quality housing and quality services with a sincere and empathetic helping hand up.
